TIP! It may be possible to reduce the problems you are having with sleep apnea by getting involved with a wind instrument. Researchers from Germany found that practicing with the didgeridoo on a regular basis strengthens throat muscles.

You will need to make note of how many hours of sleep you get each night, whether you woke up during the night and how you felt when you woke up each morning. If you have a partner, they may be able to help document your snoring, breathing issues or flailing limb issues. This diary will help your sleep apnea or if you don’t.

If your sleep apnea requires the use of a CPAP machine, make sure you have a medical ID bracelet.

Don’t underestimate the potential health consequences of sleep apnea. If you suspect you have sleep apnea, see your doctor right away. If he says you have sleep apnea you should go to a sleep specialist so that you can get tested further.

If you are not getting relief from your sleep apnea treatment methods, then you should consult with a doctor to explore some additional treatment options. Some people don’t have any luck with conventional treatments, and usually opt for surgeries like a tonsillectomy, or the enlargement of the airway.

You can lessen the sleep apnea. Some factors are impossible to escape. However, you can limit many others, like being overweight, smoking or alcohol consumption.

Sleep apnea is diagnosed through a medical exam and consideration of your and your family’s medical history. In addition, sleep studies could be performed.
