Be sure to stay far away from your cat’s litter box when pregnant. Litter and cat feces are both harmful to a woman and her unborn child. Ask a friend or family member if they can take care of this chore for awhile.

TIP! Don’t clean the cat’s litter box while you’re pregnant. The chemicals in soiled litter can harm you or your unborn child, if you are exposed directly to them.

Try not to gain too much weight when you’re pregnant. Gaining too much weight when you are pregnant can create health risk to you later and make it hard to lose once you deliver. Average women should expect to gain between 15 and 30 pounds during the entire course of pregnancy.

Stay away form Vitamin A while pregnant. Vitamin A may cause problems for the fetus. You need to stay away from foods rich in vitamin A such as mangos, egg yolks, liver and mozzarella. Eat very small portions of these foods once in a while if you want to.

TIP! While there are many nutrients you need to increase during pregnancy, you actually need to reduce vitamin A intake during this period. It can cause problems in embryos if taken in larger doses.

See your dentist routinely and maintain good oral hygiene during your teeth. Pregnancy can make your mouth and many other dental issues. See your dentist right away if you suspect any problems.

Take the time to do a hospital visit before giving birth there. Go on a tour and become acquainted with members of the staff. Any questions you have can be answered and you may feel more calm. Dads can be especially helped by this as they may be doing most of the communicating with the hospital staff while you are in labor.

TIP! Learn to say no to people who want to feed you every time they see you. You need to raise your caloric intake when you’re pregnant, but that doesn’t need to mean eating all the time.

Many people are excited when it comes to decorating the nursery that their baby will be living in. Just be aware you don’t hang around while the room is being painted. Keep the windows open while the windows. You may even want to have loved ones around to assist you and to do it instead.

Take a childbirth class. You need to secure your spot in the class early. If you plan to breastfeed, a course on breastfeeding could prove to be helpful. Both classes prepare you for what’s ahead.

TIP! Enroll in a comprehensive childbirth class. Sign up for your class as early as possible to make sure you have a spot.
